Since 2016 she works as curator for YARAT CONTEMPORARY ART SPACE Baku, Azerbaijan, being responsible for the international Residency program and ARTIM PROJECT Space directed at young artists with an intention to support and encourage emergent talent to grow. “My curatorial practice is inspired by questions on post-colonial as well as gender discourse in post-soviet space more specifically of the Central-Asia and Caucasus region. I am interested in exploring ways of undoing resilient universalization narratives and ideologies reflecting on non-dualistic, shifting, relational and fluid concepts of subjectivity. I try to find formats of inclusion and non-derivate approach working in an institutional context and a surrounding that experienced a fast change from Soviet into a neo-liberal Turbo-Capitalist system.”
