Jahangir Selimkhanov (b.1959) – head of International Relations Department of Azerbaijan National Conservatoire, Тational Expert for Azerbaijan at UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, member of European Cultural Parliament, Judge of EMYA - European Museum of the Year Award (2011-2016), Senior Associate of Cultural Futures Consultancy (London), Advisory Board Member of the Centre for Cultural Policies and Management, Bilgi University (Istanbul). Lecturer, panelist, speaker, presenter at the conferences, symposia, cultural events from Abu Dhabi to Vancouver, and from Oslo to Bangkok. With educational background in musicology and professional record track of dozens of projects across various artistic disciplines and segments of cultural domain, J. Selimkhanov has made a reputation among colleagues also as an ‘idea generator’, a person who is able to ignite and encourage with creative concepts or precisely point to an emerging trend. One of his current activities is coordinating Nasimi Festival of Poetry, Arts and Spirituality – a multidisciplinary international event held annually in Baku since 2018. Regularly teaches since 1992 in higher education institutions in Baku, in 3 languages, courses from contemporary music to cultural policy to creativity process.
